Adding Media to your Module

Enhance learners’ learning and engagement by adding media to your ArcLab modules. Most screens support media display and you can choose to display/not display media for your specific screens by clicking on the Display Media toggle on the right side of your Editor. Then, click on the Add / Edit Media window to add images or videos.

Adding Images

  1. Use Media Gallery to upload files from your own computer or Add Pictures to (i) directly embed stock images from our free-use Photo Catalogue (powered by Unsplash), or (ii) use Generative AI (“GenAI”) to create your own images (powered by Google Nano Banana)
  2. Resize or adjust the crop box to fit the media display window if you desire by clicking the green Crop icon at the bottom right.
  3. Media can also be made Full Screen – In the Settings panel on the right, Toggle to Yes for “Make Media Full Screen”.
  4. Note that uploaded media files can be used multiple times for different screens within the same module by selecting the image from the Media Gallery menu tab.
  5. To remove image, click on the image in the media display window >click the red Remove Media button at the bottom right.

Supported image files include JPG/PNG/GIF with maximum size of 5MB for each screen. For GIF files, ensure a dimension of 828 x 600 pixels to prevent borders from appearing when viewed on mobile device

Editing Images using GenAI

You can use ArcLab SmartMedia AI to make adjustments to your media.

Use the “Create with AI” selection, reference or upload a picture file, then provide a prompt instruction for ArcLab SmartMedia AI to action on.

Adding Videos

You can add videos to your modules for individual screens in two ways.

Method 1

  1. Upload Video** from your own computer
  2. After Upload – a placeholder graphic is first shown, as uploaded videos require some time to be processed by ArcLab into an easily-viewable format for your learner.
  3. At the top right of your Editor screen: Click the “Save” icon after each upload, then click the “Preview” button to verify the video has been uploaded. You have also just viewed the video from the learner’s POV.

Note 1: Supported self-uploaded video file formats include MPG / AVI / MP4 / MOV / FLV with maximum size of 1GB for each video.

Note 2: If clicking “Preview” doesn’t load the video, please wait 1-2 minutes before trying again.

Method 2

  1. Add Video to directly embed video from YouTube or Vimeo by:
    1. Searching for the video title in the search bar.
    2. Pasting the YouTube/Vimeo video link into the search bar.
  2. Preview the video, then click Embed.
  3. To remove video, click on the video in the media display window > go to Upload Video > Remove Media.
** Upload Video is available for ArcLab Pro plan only.*

Adjusting Video Settings

You can configure Learners’ settings for your module’s videos individually.

For screens where Videos were uploaded (ArcLab Pro Plan only) or embedded from YouTube or Video, you can click the “Video Settings” button on the right edge of the ArcLab Editor to configure whether:

(i) Video will Autoplay or not when the screen is loaded
(ii) Video be Be Muted by default or not
(iii) Learners can Fast-Forward the video or not (for Uploaded Videos only)
